A first: Recoveries exceed active cases
1.35L discharged, 1.33L currently infected with Covid; central teams for 6 cities

Recoveries from Covid-19 today surpassed the cumulative current infections, signalling positive returns for India’s disease response and management.
Even though cases continued to rise touching 2,76,583 today, cumulative discharged persons now number 1,35,205 as against 1,33,632 currently infected with the virus.
Movement restricted
Jaipur: The Rajasthan Government on Wednesday imposed restrictions on inter-state movement of people because of a surge in Covid-19 cases in the state.
The 24-hour surge in cases today was 9,985, almost in the same range as the daily rise in infections over the last four days. India’s recovery rate has improved to 48.8 per cent as against the mortality rate of 2.8 per cent, which remains stable. The total number of deaths from Covid so far has been 7,745. While 5,991 patients recovered over 24 hours, 274 died.

“For the first time, the total number of recovered patients has exceeded the active cases. Also, the number of tests conducted by ICMR has exceeded 50 lakh and now stands at 50,61,332,” the Health Ministry said.
