The statement said the court was requested to fix the hearing for tomorrow. “But no hearing has been fixed for tomorrow as per the cause list published till 9 pm. These events have deeply disappointed us, our lawyers and farmers at large. Therefore it has been decided to make our statement public on our stand,” said the unions.
“The government is falsely propagating that the agitation is confined to the farmers of Punjab. Thousands of farmers from Haryana, UP, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, MP, Maharashtra and other states are assembled on the borders of Delhi while thousands are protesting at various places across different states,” the statement added.
The farmers’ delegation consulted lawyers Dushyant Dave, Prashant Bhushan, Colin Gonsalves and HS Phoolka.
