Srinagar: Most of Rishi Kapoor’s early films were shot in the Kashmir valley. The hut where the popular song ‘Hum tum ek kamray main…’ was shot came to be known as ‘Bobby Hut.’ Filmmaker Mushtaaque Ali Ahmad Khan said the actor had promised to inaugurate the Kashmir World Film Festival (KWFF).

“I spoke to him last year. He promised to visit Kashmir with his family. We were planning to screen his films at the festival,” he told The Tribune.

The Highlands Park in Gulmarg shared a picture of the actor outside the ‘Bobby Hut’ and tweeted: “Rest in Peace Rishi Kapoor, saddened by the passing away of a wonderful person, icon and a real superstar. Gulmarg will always remember you.” Former CM Omar Abdullah posted on Twitter: “You made a little hut in Gulmarg an iconic place with one song…” — M Aamir Khan
