Chandigarh, July 9
The district administration has imposed new norms for tourists visiting Kempty Falls in Mussoorie. According to the new rules, only 50 tourists will be allowed to bathe at Kempty Falls for a maximum of 30 minutes at a time.
A check-post will be set up to monitor the tourists. Also, action will be taken against those without masks and not following social-distancing.

The new norms have come into force days after a video went viral on social media that showed a large number of tourists bathing at Kempty Falls without wearing masks or maintaining social-distancing.
Like Uttarakhand, Himachal, too, has been facing a similar predicament. The overcrowding of tourists at most hill stations in the state, with social-distancing norms being thrown to the winds, is giving anxious moments to the locals as well as health experts.
Most popular towns like Shimla, Kullu-Manali, Kasauli, Dharamsala-McLeodganj and Dalhousie are bursting at the seams as tourists are rushing to hills to escape the sweltering heat of the plains. The callous and irresponsible behaviour of tourists, who are roaming around without masks, littering around and engaged in spat with policemen trying to discipline them has angered even the locals.
