New Delhi, June 3
The Serum Institute of India that produces Covishield on Thursday sought indemnity from liability from the government, hoping that same rules will apply to both foreign and Indian-made vaccines.
Led by Adar Poonawalla, the SII is learnt to have told the government that legal protections for all vaccine makers —Indian and foreign — should be the same and no distinction should be made. The SII’s request follows government’s inclination to grant indemnity to US-made Pfizer and Moderna vaccines. — TNS
