Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy has asked his government to boost power production to export the same. The state has decided to formulate a new energy export policy to boost energy production in the state as well as provide an opportunity for investment in the power sector.
During a meeting with department officials, the CM asked officials to formulate a policy that would attract investors in the state to set up power plants and explore alternative source of power. Along with investment, there should be avenues of employment he told officials. Andhra Pradesh has already passed a law that mandates 75 per cent employment to local youth in private jobs.
To lend a boost to industry in the state, the CM sought a proposal on leasing out land to industrial units.
