Army officer attempts Guinness record for fastest solo cycling between Leh and Manali

An Army officer tasked to the elite 1 Strike Corps on Saturday pedaled off to set a new Guinness Record for the fastest solo cycling – from Leh to Manali.

Lt Col Sripada Sriram from the Strategic Strikers Division of the 1 Strike Corps, headquartered at Mathura, is attempting the record.

Lt Col Sriram was flagged from Leh at 4 am. The officer would attempt to cover a distance of 472 km. The route involves crossing of five major passes, all of them more than 15,000 feet in elevation, under tough weather conditions. The passes received the first snow in the first week of September.

He is expected to reach Manali on Sunday.
