Republic TV Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami on Thursday moved the Supreme Court seeking quashing of FIRs lodged against him in Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Telangana and Jammu and Kashmir for his alleged remarks against Congress president Sonia Gandhi.

During his show on lynching of three persons, including two Hindu saints, in Maharashtra, Goswami had allegedly dared the Congress chief to openly condemn the lynching of Hindu saints.

The Supreme Court is likely to take up on Friday his petition that sought immediate stay on his prosecution.

Goswami and his wife were allegedly attacked by two unknown men last night in Mumbai when he was returning home after work.
