New Delhi, August 3
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today carried out a major reshuffle of her Cabinet as she inducted eight new faces, including former Union Minister Babul Supriyo who quit the BJP and joined the Trinamool in September 2021 after being dropped from the Union Council of Ministers.
While five, including Supriyo, were sworn in as Cabinet Ministers, the remaining three were inducted as Ministers of State. The reshuffle followed Partha Chatterjee’s arrest, forcing Mamata to drop him from the Cabinet. Supriyo was elected from the Ballygunge Assembly on the Trinamool ticket in April 2022.
