US President Joe Biden is likely to announce a clutch of ambassadorships that will be sent to the Senate for approval, according to American media reports.

Biden is tipped to nominate his close political ally and Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti as his ambassador to India after his nomination for a Cabinet post went awry, reportedly due to sexual harassment allegations against an aide which he has denied. The 50-year-old Garcetti has served as the co-chair of Biden’s presidential campaign and was the first Jewish mayor of Los Angeles.
