Bimal Julka new CIC, Prez administers oath
New Delhi: Information Commissioner Bimal Julka was appointed Chief Information Commissioner (CIC) on Friday, a Rashtrapati Bhavan communique said. President Ram Nath Kovind administered the oath of office to Julka at a ceremony. Later, Julka administered the oath of office to Amita Pandove as Information Commissioner. PTI
Videotape autopsies of riot victims, says Delhi HC
New Delhi: The Delhi High Court on Friday directed all government hospitals to videograph post-mortems of those killed during the communal violence in northeast Delhi last week. A Bench asked the authorities to collect and preserve DNA samples of the bodies and not dispose of any unidentified body till March 11, the next date of hearing. The directions came on a plea seeking the whereabouts of a man who went missing on February 26. TNS
