BJP ticks off Rahul on ‘coward’ remark

Amid the attempts on political consensus-building on Chinese aggression by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, to and fro between the BJP and the lead rival Congress continues.
A day after party spokesperson Sambit Patra called him “the most irresponsible politician” in the country, BJP vice-president Vinay Sahasrabuddhe today penned a letter to Rahul Gandhi, ticking him off for calling India’s elected Prime Minister a “coward” and accusing him of “endangering” the unity of the country in a difficult time.
“…You have given an advantage to China and endangered the unity of India. By making the most irresponsible and disgusting accusation of cowardice against an elected Prime Minister, you have jeopardised/endangered unity of the country in a difficult time,” Sahasrabuddhe told Gandhi in the two-page letter.
Giving him the “friendly advice” to consult senior leaders of his party before making such “irresponsible” statements, Sahasrabuddhe said when he saw Gandhi’s trying to put others in the dock on the social media, he expected him to speak in a responsible manner, but he dashed his hopes.
