Chairing the seventh meeting of the BRICS Environment Ministerial 2021, India today stressed the need for taking concrete collective actions against global environment and climate challenge, guided by equity, national priorities and circumstances.
Held virtually at Sushma Swaraj Bhawan in New Delhi, the meeting was attended by Environment Ministers from BRICS nations.
Chairing the event, Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav said the member nations could play a crucial role in addressing the contemporary global challenges of climate change, biodiversity loss, air pollution, marine plastic litter, etc.
The ministers adopted the ‘New Delhi Statement on Environment’, which is aimed at furthering the spirit of cooperation for continuity, consolidation and consensus in environment among member nations.
