BRIEF: Shabana Azmi hurt as SUV crashes into truck
Mumbai: Veteran actress Shabana Azmi was injured after the SUV she was travelling in crashed into a truck on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway this afternoon, the police said. Azmi was rushed to the MGM Hospital in Navi Mumbai and was said to be out of danger, said a police official. Her husband and lyricist Javed Akhtar, who was traveling with her, escaped unhurt. Row over birthplace of Shirdi Saibaba
Mumbai: Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has reignited an old row over the birthplace of Shirdi Saibaba after he announced a grant of Rs 100 crore to develop the town of Pathiri in Parbhani district. While a section of Saibaba’s devotees believe that the Sufi saint was born in Pathiri, this has been contested by the residents of Shirdi in Ahmednagar district.
