Twenty-seven persons, including 25 students, were injured in a head-on collision between a state government bus and truck in Ayodhya early this morning. There were no casualties.
The Uttar Pradesh State Transport Corporation bus was ferrying students from various coaching centres in Prayagraj to their home district in Kushinagar when it met with an accident at Ayodhya early this morning.
Among the injured were 25 students, the driver and a police officer. While most of the injuries were minor. A few students with serious injuries have been admitted to the district hospital.
Prima facie it appears that the driver of the bus had dozed off causing the accident.
Taking cognisance of the accident, Chief Minister Yogi Aditynath has asked the Ayodhya District Magistrate and SSP to make proper arrangements for the medical check-up of the students and then sending them to their homes suffered minor some of the injured
Two days ago, CM Yogi had announced that the thousands of students preparing for various competitive examinations in Prayagraj would be sent back to their homes on the lines of the Kota students.
