A host of celebrities from actors and cricketers to writers have voiced their opinion on the Citizenship Act and the violence that broke out in Delhi in the fast few days.
Author Chetan Bhagat has been very vocal on the citizenship law and compared it to a life jacket.
CAA is a life jacket.
NRC is everyone being pushed out of the plane as they have to prove themselves all over again.
But Muslims don’t get the life jacket.
Distributing life jackets is not the problem. Giving them only to a few and pushing everyone off the plane is.

CAA by itself not the issue.
But CAA+NRC is discriminatory. This could happen.NRC:
All prove again u r IndianNon-Muslim: sir I don’t have documents
Govt: it’s ok. CAA will save you. U are indian.Muslim: sir I don’t have documents
Govt: too bad.U are not indian.Get out.— Chetan Bhagat (@chetan_bhagat) December 19, 2019
Why is an law like CAA, technically meant for foreigners affecting Indians so much?
Cause another law called NRC is coming, which essentially assumes all Indians are foreigners unless they can prove otherwise.
This needs to be fixed.

As a parent and a citizen of india , I am deeply saddened by the unrest across various educational institutions of our country. I hope and pray for peace to return as soon as possible. Great teachers learn from their students. I salute the worlds youngest democracy.

There may be times when we are powerless to prevent injustice, but there must never be a time when we fail to protest.
With the students and their democratic rights to protest ! I condemn violence against protesting students!!!!!— manoj bajpayee (@BajpayeeManoj) December 16, 2019
The right to peaceful protest is fundamental to ideals of democracy and constitutionalism. Please keep the protests non-violent and those in governance please exercise restraint. Our children and students should feel safe on their campuses protected and not fearful of the police.

Please don’t make the protests into a celebrity march . It has beenlead by people from all walks of life , especially students and the young . The celebrities should walk behind the people . The young should lead the old .
