Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said his government would take a decision on the minimum age for marriage of girls as soon as a committee looking into it submitted its report.

“A discussion is going on what should be the ideal age for marriage of girls. I get letters from girls to take a decision on it soon,” Modi said at a video meet after releasing a commemorative coin.

Speaking about the farmers’ issues, Modi said the government was committed to procuring crops at MSP as it was an important part of food security. — TNS/PTI
