The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today said its personnel have carried out searches at 14 locations in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh’s Lucknow and Shamli districts in connection with a case against three former officials of the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) for alleged irregularities in allotment of land in Sarita Vihar area of the National Capital.
A CBI spokesperson said the agency has registered a case against Sudhansu Ranjan, the then assistant director of DDA, Ajeet Kumar Bhardwaj, the then senior secretariat assistant in the organisation, Darwan Singh, the then security guard, and private persons Iqbal Hussain, Sunil Kumar Meena, Sapan Kumar, Jamaluddin, Rajwant Singh and Shakuntla Devi.
The case was registered on a complaint alleging illegal allotment of many DDA plots in the Madanpur Khadar area near Sarita Vihar in Delhi using false and fabricated documents and manipulation of government records, the spokesperson said.
Later, a team of CBI personnel carried out searches at 14 locations in Delhi, Lucknow and Shamli in Uttar Pradesh, which led to the recovery of incriminating documents, including DDA notices, registers, GPAs, ration cards, voter ID cards, affidavits and sale agreements, he added.
