CBSE boards, JEE Mains postponed, new dates after March 31

Amid India’s efforts to limit Covid-19 transmission to stage 2, PM Narendra Modi will address the country tomorrow “at 8 PM during which he will talk about issues relating to Covid-19 and the efforts to combat it,” PMO’s official Twitter handle said tonight. The message came after the PM chaired a meeting to review efforts to contain the virus.
“The PM emphasised actively engaging with individuals, local communities and organisations in chalking out mechanisms to fight the menace. He urged officials and technical experts to deliberate on the steps to be taken next,” the PMO handle said.
Meanwhile, the HRD MInistry’s National Testing Agency postponed JEE Mains. New dates will be announced after assessing the situation on March 31. The CBSE also postponed the ongoing Class X and XII exams, saying these will be rescheduled after March 31.
“Re-exams scheduled for northeast Delhi candidates will be further rescheduled. Earlier, the HRD Ministry sent a letter to all regulators, including CBSE, UGC, NIOS, AICTE, and autonomous institutions, saying all ongoing exams may be rescheduled after March 31.
The government has asked all institutions to notify helpline numbers/emails which students can access for queries. JEE Mains were to start from April 5.
