CBSE sets up 13-member panel to decide assessment criteria

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Friday constituted a 13-member committee to work out objective criteria for assessment of Class 12 students after their board exams were cancelled in view of the pandemic.

The panel will submit its report within 10 days, according to Exam Controller Sanyam Bhardwaj. “In view of uncertain conditions due to Covid and the feedback obtained from various stakeholders, it was decided that Class 12 board exams of CBSE will not be held this year. It was also decided that the CBSE will take steps to compile the results as per a well-defined objective criteria in a time-bound manner,” Bhardwaj said.

Both CBSE and the Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations cancelled Class 12 exams on June 1 after deliberation on the issue by PM Narendra Modi, Union Ministers and officials. — TNS

Open school cancels Class XII examinations
