Centre kicks off field work for survey on migrant workers

Once bitten twice shy, the Centre on Wednesday rolled out the field work of the much-awaited all-India survey on migrant workers and the all-India quarterly establishment based employment survey (AQEES).
Launching the survey vide video-conference here, Union Labour Minister Santosh Kumar Gangwar said the results of both these surveys would generate highly useful data for effective policy making in the field of labour and employment. Sources said the Ministry was pushing for availability of the results of the two surveys initiated today within this year.
