The NIA today said it had filed the first supplementary chargesheet before a special court in Kolkata against three persons in connection with West Bengal LeT online recruitment module case.
The three Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) operatives are Tania Parveen, aka Isranoor, a resident of North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal, Sayyad M Idris, alias Munna, a resident of Kannada district of Karnataka, and absconding Ayesha Siddiqi, a resident of Kotmomen in Punjab province of Pakistan. All of them have been charged under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), they added.
The case was initially registered on March 13, 2020, at the Baduria police station in North 24 Parganas district, which was related to the arrest of Tania Parveen, a member of proscribed terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba by the state police, the officials said. The NIA took over the probe on April 5, 2020, they added.
“Accused Parveen was a college student and recruited in cyberspace by Pakistan-based cadres of the LeT. She was co-admin of various social media groups espousing secessionist ideas on Kashmir with accused Ayesha Burhan, a Pakistan based cadre of LeT’s Women’s wing”, the NIA alleged in the chargesheet.
