CJI-designate Justice Ramana visits Lord Venkateswara shrine

The Chief Justice of India (CJI)-designate Justice NV Ramana, accompanied by the family visited the ancient hill shrine of Lord Venkateswara near Tirumala and offered prayers. The senior-most judge of the Supreme Court, Justice Ramana will take oath on April 24.
He will be the 48th CJI. Justice Ramana was in news recently when Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Reddy dragged the name of the judge in a case pertaining to Amravati.
An ardent devotee of Lord Venkateswara, Justice Ramana spent about an hour in the temple. A Telugu, born in an agriculture family in Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh he and his wife Sivamala were honoured by the temple authorities with a sacred silk cloth, a portrait of Lord Venkateswara and prasadam.
