New Delhi, July 21
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) today said exams for private candidates of Classes 10 and 12 will be conducted from August 16 to September 15. The CBSE also ruled out declaring results of the private candidates on the basis of an alternative assessment policy like that for regular candidates, saying neither schools nor the Board has any previous assessment record for these students.
“Their result will be declared in minimum possible time to avoid any difficulty to them in admission in higher education,” according to the CBSE notice. Private candidates have been alleging “disparity” between them and regular candidates. Meanwhile, the board has also extended deadline for schools to help calculate results of Class 12 exams by three days from July 22 to July 25. “In case any school is left to complete moderation of marks, the result of such schools will be declared separately,” the CBSE said. — TNS
