The Congress party on Tuesday launched ‘India’s Rizing Talent’, a platform to connect with the youth by affording them an opportunity to showcase their artistic and musical talent.

Launching the initiative, Indian Youth Congress joint secretary Krishna Allavaru said India’s Rizing Talent was a creative and innovative platform where youth could express their political views through dance, singing, rapping, stand-up comedy, mimicry, innovative social ideas and technology.

To participate, youngsters have to WhatsApp their one minute video on mobile number 7311126111.

The initiative was launched here in the presence of personalities from the field of acting and art.

Present at the launch were actor Sonia Mann, singer B. Mohit, folk singer Neha Singh Rathore, poet Arya Bharat and singer-composer Raman Kapoor.

Mohit paid a musical tribute to Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala on the occasion.

Sonia Mann said India’s Rizing Talent was an opportunity for the youth to craft a successful future. Neha Singh Rathore, who shot to fame showcasing her rich repertoire of regional music during the recent Uttar Pradesh elections, said many youngsters across India were awaiting a chance to display their talent.

“India’s Rizing Talent program will encourage them to come forward,” she said.

IYC chief Srinivas BV speaking on the occasion said politicisation of trivial issues was a serious problem in the country today.

“Interests and rights of the people are being trampled upon. Therefore highlighting issues of public interest and providing solutions is our priority through this programme,” Srinivas said.

Allavaru noted that national harmony was not possible without Gandhian values.

“Our resolve is to take Gandhian ideas to the masses and build a sensitive society. Respecting every section of the society, every community and integrating them in the goal of nation building is our objective. Therefore, we will talk to the youth through this programme and connect them with the ideology of Congress,” he said.
