Court convicts 2 IS operatives

A special court in Mumbai has convicted two ISIS operatives for trying to radicalise Muslim youths to join the Islamic State (IS), the National Investigation Agency (NIA) said today.

In its chargesheet, the NIA alleged that the convicted persons — Rizwan Ahmed and Mohsin Ibrahim Sayyed — were involved in instigating Muslim youths to travel abroad and become members of the IS/ISIL/ISIS to wage a war against India.

In 2015, a case in this respect was lodged with the Mumbai’s Kalachowki police station. — TNS
