New Delhi, September 30
The Congress today said a meeting of the party’s working committee would be convened soon to discuss issues confronting the country and party.
Randeep Singh Surjewala, AICC general secretary and media chief, said the Congress Working Committte (CWC) meeting would be held in the coming days and party president Sonia Gandhi had indicated the same before leaving for Shimla recently on a short vacation.

Only yesterday, prominent leaders of G-23 Kapil Sibal and Ghulam Nabi Azad demanded an urgent meeting of the CWC to discuss what they described as a “heartbreaking state of affairs in the party”, which is losing leader after leader.
The Congress is facing a major upheaval in Punjab, where state chief Navjot Singh Sidhu had questioned recent appointments by Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi.
A turf war is underway in Chhattisgarh with a section of MLAs loyal to CM Bhupesh Baghel camping in Delhi to thwart any attempt of replacing the CM.
In Rajasthan, former Deputy CM Sachin Pilot is awaiting accommodation of his loyalists in the state Cabinet.
