The Ministry of Defence on Sunday said all defence public sector undertakings and factories under the Ordnance Factory Board (OFB) have been geared up to help state governments in tackling the recent spike in Covid cases.

A 180-bed Covid care centre, set up by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), is functional in Bengaluru. Another 250-bed facility in Bengaluru has been handed over to municipal authorities under Corporate Social Responsibility.

A 70-bed facility in Koraput (Odisha) and a 40-bed hospital in Nashik are also operational. The work has also been undertaken by HAL to set up a 250-bed facility in Lucknow, expected to be operational in the first week of May.
