Owner of SUV with gelatin found dead

Mumbai: Hiren Mansukh, owner of the vehicle with explosives that had been found parked near industrialist Mukesh Ambani’s residence last week, was found dead in a creek in neighboring Thane on Friday, the police said. Mansukh, 45, had gone missing on Thursday night. The body was found on the banks of the creek along the Mumbra Reti Bunder road, a senior official said. The Scorpio with gelatin sticks inside was found near Ambani’s residence in South Mumbai, on February 25. — PTI

Death for nine in Bihar hooch case

Gopalganj (Bihar): Nine persons were awarded death sentence and four women were imprisoned for life by a court here on Friday in connection with a hooch tragedy that had claimed 19 lives a few months after Bihar went dry in August 2016. Fourteen persons had been named accused in the illicit liquor case and one of them had died pending trial. The hooch tragedy had led to a massive outcry and several police personnel were placed under suspension in its wake. — PTI
