ED seizes Rs131-cr funds of NBFC

New Delhi: The ED has seized more than Rs 131-crore funds of a Chinese national-owned NBFC for alleged violation of the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA). According to the ED, the NBFC is PC Financial Services Private Limited and it was in the business of providing instant personal micro loans through its mobile application “Cashbean” for suspicious foreign outward remittances. A first: Khasi woman is Meghalaya CS

Shillong: Senior IAS officer Rebecca Vanessa Suchiang on Thursday took charge as the new Chief Secretary of Meghalaya, becoming the first Khasi woman to be appointed to the post. The 1989-batch IAS officer of the Assam-Meghalaya cadre was appointed as the new Chief Secretary by the state government on Wednesday, a government notification said. PTI
