Enforcement Directorate summons Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut for questioning
New Delhi, June 27
Amid the ongoing political crisis in Maharashtra, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) today summoned Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut for questioning in connection with a case linked to alleged irregularities in re-development of a Mumbai ‘chawl’.
It’s a conspiracy
We are fighting a big battle. This is a conspiracy to stop me. Even if you behead me, I won’t take the Guwahati route. — Sanjay Raut, Shiv Sena
Confirming the development, an ED official said the Shiv Sena leader had been asked to appear at 11 am on Tuesday before investigators for questioning in Mumbai.
In a tweet, Raut said, “This is a conspiracy to stop me.”
Raut has been summoned in connection with a case linked to the Patra chawl land scam. The agency had earlier attached some properties linked to Raut and his family members in connection with the case. Raut is considered to be a close confidant of Shiv Sena chief and Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.
