Former NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant was on Thursday named India’s Sherpa for the G-20, the grouping of the world’s largest economies.
He will replace Union Minister Piyush Goyal.

The retired Kerala cadre bureaucrat, who resigned as NITI Aayog CEO recently, has been appointed days ahead of a meeting in Indonesia to prepare groundwork for the G-20 meeting later in the year.
India will assume the G-20 presidency next year.
