Petrol price on Monday was hiked by 48 paise per litre and diesel 23 paise as oil companies for ninth day in a row adjusted retail rates in line with costs since ending an 82-day hiatus in rate revision. The freeze in rates was imposed in mid-March. PTI

Punjab hikes VAT on petrol

With Punjab raising VAT on fuel, petrol price in state goes up by Re 1- 1.20 per litre and that of diesel by 53 paise a litre. The VAT on petrol has been hiked from 23. 30% to 26. 43% and diesel from 15.15 % to 15.98%.
