Some media reports quoted Colonel Manish Kapil, a commander of the Border Road Task Force, as having placed the location of the glacier burst at Joshimath in Uttarakhand, although there’s no official confirmation.

There is no information on the mishap yet, and this story will be updated when there are more details.

The development comes two months after a major glacier burst in Uttarakhand caused in Chamoli. That incident on February 7 killed over 100 people and has been put down by experts to climate change.
