With global celebrities backing farm protests in India and government sensing foreign hands behind local provocations, Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday launched "India is united campaign on Twitter", using the hashtag “India against propaganda”.

“No propaganda can deter India’s unity! No propaganda can stop India to attain new heights! Propaganda cannot decide India’s fate only ‘Progress’ can. India stands united and together to achieve progress. #IndiaAgainstPropaganda. #IndiaTogether,” Shah wrote on his twitter handle.

Ministers Piyush Goyal and Smriti Irani and Indian celebrities Karan Johar, Ajay Devgan and Akshay Kumar also tweeted with the hashtag ‘India Together’ and ‘Indian against propaganda’, making it a top Twitter trend through the day.

“International forces wary of India's rising power are conspiring to weaken our democracy. We have to ensure we stay united and foil all attempts by anarchist and foreign forces,” tweeted Railway Minister Piyush Goyal.

Actor Akshay Kumar’s twitter handle read: “Farmers constitute an extremely important part of our country. And the efforts being undertaken to resolve their issues are evident. Let’s support an amicable resolution, rather than paying attention to anyone creating differences. #IndiaTogether #IndiaAgainstPropaganda.”

Ajay Devgan tweeted: “Don’t fall for any false propaganda against India or Indian policies. It is important to stand united at this hour w/o any infighting #IndiaTogether #IndiaAgainstPropaganda.”

The ruling BJP has instructed its cadres to attack Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for saying that India’s global image had been hit due to farmers’ protests.

BJP’s Sambit Patra hit out at Gandhi saying, "He is speaking the language of Rihanna."

“Rahul Gandhi conspires against India during his foreign trips. His photos with the Communist party of China leaders had become public. He and Rihanna are speaking the same language.”

Gandhi had earlier on Wednesday said India's image had taken a massive beating due to the treatment being meted to farmers and journalists.

The government sources said internationalisation of Indian matters was a growing recent trend and was being peddled by forces inimical to Indian growth story.

Oxford dictionary only on Tuesday included PM Narendra Modi coined word “Atmanirbharta” in its realm.

India has also been helping the world with COVID vaccines and drugs.
