Hafiz aides get 15-yr jail for terror financing
Lahore: An anti-terrorism court in Pakistan has handed down more than 15-year jail term each to Yahya Mujahid and Zafar Iqbal, aides of Mumbai terror attack mastermind and banned Jamat-ud Dawah chief Hafiz Saeed, in a terror financing case. Mujahid is the outfit’s media face. On Tuesday, the Lahore court had also sentenced Saeed’s brother-in-law Abdul Rehman Makki to six-month in jail. PTI
NIA chargesheets 3 for Hindu leader’s murder
New Delhi: The NIA on Wednesday said it had filed a chargesheet here at a local court against three arms suppliers in connection with Hindu leader Amit Sharma’s murder. The Sri Hindu Takht, Ludhiana, was killed in 2017. The accused, Ashish Kumar, Javed and Arshad Ali, alias Munshi, residents of Meerut in UP, have been charged with sections of the IPC, the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and the Arms Act, officials said.
