BJP leaders today filed a complaint against Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut for allegedly using obscene and derogatory words against actress Kangana Ranaut.

Seeking registration of an FIR under Sections 294 and 509 of the IPC, BJP state secretary Payal Vadiya and state IT cell head Chetan Bragata said: “On September 5, “Raut used unconstitutional and abusive language on a news channel and in a fit of rage not only abused and insulted Kangana, but also showed scant regard for the law of the country.”

Meanwhile, the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) today said a scheduled flight would be suspended for two weeks if anyone was found taking photographs on the aircraft.

On Friday, the DGCA had written to IndiGo CEO Wolfgang Prock-Schauer, listing out the violations that allegedly took place on a Chandigarh-Mumbai flight in which actor Kangana Ranaut was travelling.

“It has been decided that in case any violation (photography) occurs on any scheduled passenger aircraft, the schedule of flight for that particular route shall be suspended for two weeks from the next day,” the DGCA said in its order.

Aviation experts have reacted sharply to the DGCA order, saying the regulator should ensure appropriate action against the airline as well as the unruly passengers as it did in a recent case involving comedian Kunal Kamra.

Captain Mohan Rangnathan, an air safety expert, said the regulator should have ensured action against the airlines as well as the journalists involved. “It is a safety violation. Television journalists were moving inside the aircraft when the seat belt signs were on. You don’t need the airline to inquire the incident. Evidence is there in front of you. The DGCA should have taken action as it did in the case of Kunal Kamra.”
