Indian envoy to Austria transferred, not recalled: MEA
New Delhi, December 30
The Ministry of External Affairs today denied that India’s Ambassador to Austria Ruma Pall had been recalled. The officer has simply been transferred back to the headquarters, said official sources, while declining to comment on reports that the Central Vigilance Commission had indicted her for misusing Government money.
“Reports that India’s Ambassador to Austria has been recalled to headquarters is factually incorrect. The decision to transfer the officer back to headquarters was an administrative one. The distortion of facts related to this matter is mischievous,’’ said the spokesperson.
