New Delhi, September 21
Air Marshal Vivek Ram Chaudhari will be the next Air Force Chief. He will take over from Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria, who retires on September 30, a Ministry of Defence spokesperson said.
Chaudhari was commissioned in the IAF’s fighter stream in December 1982. He has flown a variety of fighter and trainer aircraft, including missions during Op Meghdoot (Siachen) and Op Safed Sagar during the Kargil conflict with Pakistan in May-July 1999. At present, he is IAF Vice Chief and has in the past commanded the Western Air Command. — TNS
