Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday exuded the confidence of BJP’s win in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections declaring that like Lord Hanuman, who became tough in the face of challenges, the saffron party too has the firmness to liberate the country from corruption and nepotism, and to safeguard the rule of law.
Addressing party leaders and workers on the 44th Foundation Day of the BJP today, which coincided with Hanuman Jayanti, the Prime Minister said, “Like Lord Hanuman whose life is our inspiration, the BJP can take tough decisions against corruption, nepotism and to ensure rule of law to liberate the country of these evils.”
The PM slammed Congress and like-minded parties for “baadshahi (monarchical) mindset that treats citizens like slaves” and said “these parties are captive to dynastic politics, casteism and regionalism, they think small and achieve even lesser. The BJP political culture, on the other hand, is to take people along, think big and achieve even bigger.”
“In 2014, people did not just change the government; they laid the foundations for a resurgent India,” said the Prime Minister, adding that everyone has started saying that no one can defeat the BJP in 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
“But we don’t have to become overconfident. People have started saying that the BJP can’t be defeated in 2024 and that is true. But we must fight every election like we fought in the 1980s,” the PM said.
He said that “people with monarchical bent of mind have been abusing the poor, Dalits and backwards since BJP came to power in 2014 and when nothing worked they have started openly saying that Modi’s grave will be dug.”
They don’t realise that the poor, youth, women, Dalits and backwards are standing like shields to protect BJP’s Lotus.
The PM also said that social justice was no political slogan for the BJP which was ensuring last mile delivery of all government benefits to the marginalised without “discrimination, appeasement and vote bank politics.”
“We don’t have to restrict ourselves to winning elections. We have to win the hearts of people,” PM admonished workers and leaders asking them to learn from parties abroad and be prepared to build a developed India by 2047 through people’s participation.
The PM warned BJP cadres against complacency and said conspiracies of the Opposition would increase.
“Their frustration has grown so much they have only one option: to peddle lies and dig my grave,” the PM said, adding that the BJP, with the pledge of nation first, should devote to the service of people and not selves.
