Maharashtra Congress leaders sworn in as ministers in the state government on Tuesday met party president Sonia Gandhi and former chief Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi to discuss the way forward and the strategic policy push.

Former CM Ashok Chavan, who has become PWD Minister, was part of the delegation. Some Maharashtra leaders are said to be unhappy over Cabinet formation of Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress alliance with former state CM Prithviraj Chavan not taking oath on Monday. TNS

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
