Eyebrows are being raised over the manner in which the authorities of Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU) allowed a student of MBA course to take a reappear exam from the local Civil Hospital, while the same student took another exam organised 90 minutes later on the university campus.
Tushar Dahiya, who has been a student of MBA course at the Institute of Management Studies and Research (IMSAR) located on the MDU campus in Rohtak, is the son of Jaidev Dahiya, the transport officer of the university.
Sources maintain that Tushar took an exam of MBA 5th year first semester (reappear) at Rohtak Civil Hospital, where he was admitted, from 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. on December 21.
However, he took another exam of the MBA course from 2 pm to 5 pm on the same day on the university campus.
Curiously, within a short span of 90 minutes, the student became fit enough to reach his examination centre located on the second floor of the institute on the university campus and take the exam.
“The student took certain other exams at IMSAR on the university campus after the said date,” the sources point out, adding that he had taken several exams at the Civil Hospital last year as well.
MDU transport officer Jaidev Dahiya, who is the father of the student, maintained his son had met with an accident last year and he had to be hospitalised.
“With the advent of winter this year, his condition deteriorated and he had to be hospitalised again. We sought due permission to get his exam taken at the Civil Hospital,” he stated.
The MDU Vice-Chancellor, Prof Rajbir Singh, said the matter was not in his knowledge, but he would get it examined and take appropriate action in this regard.
