A section of students had launched a vicious protest on November 6 following confirmation of his appointment on November 5. Interestingly, despite the studen’ open defiance of university rules and regulations, BHU Vice Chancellor Rakesh Bhatnagar merely pleaded with them to withdraw their protest.

The university administration till date has not taken punitive action against the protesters.
