BJP president JP Nadda on Sunday retaliated to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s latest salvo against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying you should understand the language of gods.
“Narendra Modi is now Surendra Modi. This has come from your side, even the God is not helping you. It means that Narendra Modi is not just the king of ‘nar’ (men/human beings) but also ‘sur’ (devta/gods). The God is also thinking ‘shubh’ (good/auspicious). You should understand the language of God,” BJP president Nadda said while addressing the Uttar Pradesh Jan Sanvad virtual rally.

Narendra means ‘lord/king of men’ with Sanskrit word ‘nar’ (man) combined with Hindu god ‘Indra’ denoting ‘lord/king’.
‘Sur’ in Surendra means ‘devta’ or gods, though Gandhi’s jibe was obviously meant “surrender” or “giving up” as the PM is being accused by the Congress in the ongoing standoff with China at the LAC.
Taking a jibe at the prime minister over the ongoing border conflict with China in Ladakh, Rahul Gandhi today said Narendra Modi “is actually Surender Modi”.
The Congress leader also referred to an article published in Japan Times, which claimed that India’s “policy of appeasement” has failed to deter China from adopting an aggressive approach towards India.
Nadda said the Congress does not even know how a responsible Opposition should behave, advising it to take tuition from the BJP which has a long experience of sitting in the Opposition.
“All through the Covid crisis, the Opposition has done nothing but politics. We have been in Opposition for long and have always stood with the government at the times of crisis. The Congress, however, indulged in petty politics throughout the crisis.
“You asked us for the road map. The prime minister has a road map ready for the country, you think about your party which is only going down. You don’t even know how to behave like an Opposition. I think you should take tuition from us (BJP), we have been in Opposition for long,” Nadda said also assuring that under the leadership of PM Modi, “every inch of the country and its borders are safe”.
