Mumbai, December 3
The proposed rally by disgruntled BJP leader Pankaja Munde could turn into a major banner of revolt with several senior party leaders holding talks with her.
Munde is holding a big rally at Gopinathgad, the memorial to her late father Gopinath Munde, on December 12. While sidelined BJP leader Eknath Khadse has already announced that he would be attending the rally, former education minister Vinod Tawde had a meeting with Pankaja this afternoon.
While it is still not clear what transpired between Tawde and Pankaja, the two are among the leaders, including former minister Chandrasekhar Bawankule, who want Fadnavis replaced as BJP leader in the state.
While Tawde and Bawankule were denied ticket to contest the Assembly elections, Pankaja was defeated by her cousin Dhananjay from the NCP. Khadse’s daughter Rohini was also defeated by an Independent candidate. Both Pankaja and Khadse blame the former CM for working against them.
After removing all links with the BJP in her social media profiles, Munde is meeting several BJP leaders from across the state.
