Hearing in Bilkis Bano case deferred to July
New Delhi: In view of incomplete procedural formalities on account of non-serving of notices to some of the convicts in the Bilkis Bano case, the Supreme Court on Tuesday deferred to July 11 the hearing on petitions challenging the premature release of 11 men convicted of raping Bilkis Bano and killing her family members. Extortion case: Rs 51 cr assets attached
New Delhi: The ED has attached properties worth Rs 51.40 crore in the illegal coal levy extortion scam that took place in Chhattisgarh. According to the ED, the 90 immovable properties, luxurious vehicles, jewellery and cash belong to Congress MLAs Devender Yadav, Chandradev Prasad Rai and PCC treasurer Ramgopal Agarwal, among others. New Delhi: Vivek Agnihotri, Pallavi Joshi and Abhishek Agarwal — makers of film The Kashmir Files — on Tuesday sent a defamation notice to West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee for her May 8 media address where she claimed that the film and another upcoming one on Bengal by the same set of makers was funded by the BJP and was bereft of facts.
