It remains to be seen what shape the Lok Janshakti Party’s relations with the BJP at the Centre take as the party’s political presence is confined to Bihar where JD(U) leaders have expressed their opposition to any ties with Chirag Paswan’s party. The LJP won only one seat.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
