Amid uproar over the CBSE Class X English exam, officials said question numbers 13 and 14 were correct and there was no ambiguity.

Several students and parents took to social media on Saturday to highlight certain “confusing” questions in the English exam.

“With regard to the queries about English question numbers 13 and 14, it may be noted that both questions are correct and there is no ambiguity.

“The passage starts with the following statement — ‘Read the passage given below and answer the questions/complete the statements that follow by choosing the most appropriate option out of the given ones’,” said the CBSE in a statement.

“Questions are to be replied as per the instructions given and not in isolation,” it added. — TNS
