New Delhi, September 30
Taking a pragmatic view of the situation along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China, Indian Army Chief General MM Naravane on Thursday said “incidents (at the border) would continue to happen till a long-term solution in the form of a boundary agreement was reached”.
General Naravane was referring to the un-demarcated LAC that is the de-facto boundary between the two nuclear-armed neighbours. The Himalayan ridge line that runs in an east-west direction has been considered a traditional boundary, but never has an agreed-upon border been demarcated on ground.
