Though Mumbai has more than 400 recovered patients, only two have so far turned up to donate blood for the plasma therapy trials being carried out by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (MC).

Officials of the MC today urged patients, who have recovered from Covid, on social media to donate their blood for the plasma therapy trials, which could help save those seriously affected by the virus.

“Recovered patients can now donate blood and plasma four weeks after recovery or negative swab tests,” said the MC. Civic officials say they are calling up patients who have been discharged from Kasturba Hospital to donate blood. “So far, only two patients have volunteered,” an official from the health department of the MC said.
